[2-C] Spandana: Exploring Healing Pulsations Spanda is the subtle pulse, vibration, or micro- movement of the body’s energetic system. When we sense this pulsation inside us, we are sensing our own personal spark of primordial life force. Spandana provides a more gross connection with our subtle spanda, and in turn our prana, through the application of a range of pulsing techniques that help the physical body better align with its subtle counterparts. In this session participants will learn:
the principles of spanda
to practice spandana to help clear physical and energetic blocks and improve movement
to use interoceptive awareness
how spandana can enhance the therapeutic efficacy of a range of yoga asana
Leigh Blashki C-IAYT, Cert iRest® Teacher & Supervisor Leigh has practiced yoga and meditation since 1968 and was the Founder of the Australian Institute of Yoga Therapy Leigh is often described as the ‘father of yoga therapy in Australia’ and is sort-after presenter nationally and internationally. He is an IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist, Certified iRest® Teacher and certification supervisor and has over 40 years’ experience as a Yoga and meditation teacher. He has served on IAYT Standards, Accreditation and Certification Committees and is a past-president of Yoga Australia. Leigh is passionate about sharing the non-dual teachings that underpin iRest® and is the Associate Director – Australasia for the iRest Institute. His teachers have included: Sri Yogendra, Swami Gitananda, A.G. Mohan and Dr Richard Miller. In 2013 he was conferred an IAYT Presidential Award for “extraordinary service to the field of yoga therapy” and in 2017 received their Yoga Therapy Seva Award.
